With days getting colder, I guess my knitting mojo makes a (still timid) comeback : it isn't always easy to combine all the activities, and spinning also took its toll on my "leisure time". Now that I'm starting to be able to make real yarn, it has become very relaxing. Soon I'll understand that in order to make good yarn, you have to be concentrated, but in the meantime, the yarn I'm creating reflects my thoughts, and sometimes it is overtwisted, sometimes it's real thin ;-).
Well anyway, I am progressing on socks, slowly, and wondering how to best show the colors of the hand-dyed cashmere I have : on a base of some white Plassard's cashmere, 2 balls, so about 220 yds, I dyed a riot of colors.

I have a s a contrast some more, beautifull greyish beige.

I'd love to make stripes that show off nicely, but I also need a flat stitch, as I'll knit a scarf. So I swatched.

First swatch is with 4 mm needles - too loose. Second swatch is in different stitches, it is short but it gave me the impression of how it would look like.
So now I'm wondering which of these to choose. Garter stitch rib, 1x1 ribs, 2x2 ribs, or stocking stitch with g st borders, taking the risk for the scarf to roll...
In the meantime, I'm spinning...
