Firstly, a very Happy, successful and healthy 2011 year to you all. I have started mine holidaying in Brittany with my family and resting from the busy 2010. This year is behind us behind now, and with it going, new good resolutions have come up. And there's a lot of knitting and (quite) a lot blogging for me.
So what about starting with my first Finished knitted Object of the year? It is clearly linked to what will follow, and a bit a cushy colourful wool is always a good appetizer...
The first knitting on which the last touch was added, which made it a wearable clothe, button included is Cherish , a Kim Hargreaves pattern in Big Wool from Rowan, because I really really wanted to knit and wear this colour : a deep, bluish green .
Here it is, self-portrait home :
It will be worn on a nice grey wintery dress, not with the pair of jeans like on this picture. It was an easy pattern but I had to follow the instructions closely, as there are some "finesse" in some steps. It is fitting well, and I am super happy about it. It is a great start for the achievement of my resolution of a yarn stash diet : I want to try to knit up at least 500 grams per month...we'll see how good I am at keeping this resolution.
The good news is that I have good chances to achieve the goal at least for the first month : this FO counts as 300 gr already.
Soooo, let's start the count, with January 18th : 300 gr.
