First day of 2008, a quiet day, last one of some short holidays with the familly. These last weeks of the 2007 year were really busy with work, still some translating, and I tried to fit in as much knitting as possible. I did 5 pairs of socks during the Fall, and wanted to have one more pair of socks for the gifts, but couldn't make it.
Here is hot from the iron blocking (finished them today, let's say it's a late Christmas present), the last pair of my presents target for this Christmas, a Lang Jawoll:

I did them top-down, with a german heel. It is a good yarn which makes me think of Regia sock yarn. I didn't use the reinforcement yarn, I was too much in a hurry... The colors are really lovely.
Here the other socks I managed to take pictures of :
The Kaffee Fassett Landscape Fire Regia Toe Up Socks :

I did it following Wendy's generic Toe Up sock pattern, knitting as much ribbing at the top as I could without being too bored, so that they could be folded. They're lovely when worn.
The Socks That Rocks Monkey Socks :

Great, super soft yarn. I did 6 pattern repeats on the legs, and had enough for both socks, but just enough...I loved using almost all of it for these. They will be happily worn by my sister, who was the recipient of a pair which got lost in the mail.
But the best, the greatest joy and pride, I got it by managing to finish, just on time, and with just enough yarn :

The Hanne Falkenberg Jacket! Yes!! I finished it at 11 pm on the 24/12. It got wrapped and put under the tree just after. There were still some ends to weave in. I did them on the 25th, very happily putting the final touch to a project which was really a long-run one. Another picture, to have it look alike the presentation of the pattern, presentation of the pattern which made me decide for it :

Mum is happy, daughter is Even More Happy :-)
And now? Well, I think there will be more socks in the coming year, and I hope to be able to tackle some more difficult patterns. With patterned yarn it is not easy, and I still have a lot of them in the stash.
The first knitting orientated good resolution is to make myself some goals more regularly.
Happy knitting!
Wishing you a very happy 2008 !
