Change of settings

Things looked bad at La Tricoteuse Bretonne, when time came to pack my things to move on. There were boxes and packs and bags, everywhere in my flat. And I thought I didn't have that much in this airy, luminous flat in the south part of Brussels. What a joke.

It came out that I had much more than expected, and to organize and pack it all, I was glad to get help and advices from my neighbour. First, she told me to get some banana boxes. What - boxes? Boxes from the stores, used for packing and shipping of bananas. I did the trip to the supermarkets a few times, getting 4 or 5 at a time, and it did the trick. They're practical, not too small, not too big, sturdy, and they have handles. And they stack well.

My yarn stash was already packed before this, and well protected. I even transported beforehand a good part of it, using the opportunity of my trips to Brittany for the job interviews. I also thought the quantities would look less impressive if moved by fraction. Which it did, he, he.

All in all, I was really lucky with this moving, and for the little time I had to actually prepare, it was not too bad. But leaving Brussels, and the friends I got to know there, was more difficult. Especially as I didn't have a job this year, friendship had a big place in my life, and now I have to realize I won't see them often anymore. It still feels a bit like I'm on holidays in Brittany, but it ain't...

I was happy to be able to see almost everyone again in the last 2 weeks of my stay in Brussels. I also got some reminders by my best belgian temptator, range belgian specialities :

Some Vermeiren speculoos, the "natural" are the best of the speculoos I got to taste, and they're sold in the supermarkets. There is also from the same producer speculoos with chocolate chips, simply heaven with a glass of milk :-)
Also, some biscuits of the Destrooper range, the whole range is very good, but these were specially good...

The very good thing about my moving is that I got the job I was hoping for since december, it is very close to my family, starting in september. I'll start looking for a place soon but now the region is so crowded, and everybody lives at the pace of the holidays (which is a hectic one here, as the region lives thanks to the tourism), though the weather isn't at the rendez-vous this year.

Now that things are being settled, I coudl finish a special project for the rowan exchange, my thingy is gone with the post a few days ago, and I am happily knitting in the evening with my sister, chatting or watching tv. Didn't make pictures of the very start of a cardi in Rowan's All Seasons, but I'll do so soon.
I started this cardi after finishing the socks in Lorna's Lace started almost a month ago :

The monkeys pattern bug hit me too, and it was a pleasure to follow this very easy pattern :-)

Happy knitting to you all!

Bon courage pour le démangement, ou plutôt l'installation maintenant. Peut-être on pourra se revoir un de ces jours?
