I've been tagged last month, and it is only now that I get to make this entry. I hope things will come back to normal concerning this blog very soon, and I have good reason to think it will. Soon.
As for now I'll be telling 8 random things about myself. It is kind of weird to start, as it is random. Such a freedom...I hope you do not get bored too easily.
The rules :
1. Each player starts with eight random facts/habits about themselves.
2. People who are tagged need to write their own blog about their eight things and post these rules.
3. At the end of your blog, you need to choose eight people to get tagged and list their names.
4. Don’t forget to leave them a comment telling them they’re tagged, and to read your blog.
Well, here we are :
1. Socially unloved animals make me want to come to their "loving" rescue. That is how I ended up liking spiders, snakes, toads, etc…and trying to make others love them, too. I believe they are unfairly misunderstood. It began when I was small, with ants and snails. I also love the other animals that everyone (or almost) likes, of course, like horses, cats and dogs. It is only that those misunderstood ones have a soft spot in me. Even if they do not care. There are exceptions to this kind of rule, like mosquitoes, and parasites in general. Esp. when they start attacking me.
2.I have been very lucky to go and stay for longer period of times in very special places like natural reserves : in South America (French Guyana), Greece, Hungary and Camargue (South of France). I strongly believe that I left part of my heart in these places. I can stay for longer periods out of town and comfort even though it also made me realize how precious the developments of our modern societies are a gift (like toilets, for example).
3.Being a very social and culture loving person doesn’t go with the above, this may explain why I've had to come back to the modern civilization, and bigger towns.
4. My hair acts kind of weird. When too short, it is frizzy and uncontrollable. As a teenager, I wanted to have them shorter, which resulted in me being called by not so funny names in school. That is why I have it long now.
5. I take up accents way too easy. Being raised with contacts to other languages made it easy for me to learn languages, but after 4 years in Belgium, I know have the French Belgium accent. Evidently, they say they do not have an accent. But I do get recognized as someone who's been spending a lot of time here. It is kind of fun, thankfully.
6. I started knitting when I was in natural reserve not so far from town, Camargue, and my basis was a book, a magazine (Phildar) with patterns, and some yarn bought at a Phildar's. I started with a pattern of a coat for one of my nephew. Since then, I've been knitting off and on, always something on the go.
7. Sport is rather boring to me. Only walking in the nature, with associated bird or plant watching, is a physical activity pleasant enough to me. I try to do some, like every three months I go to the swimming pool, but apart from swimming, my efforts are quite pathetic.
8. I always wanted to draw and paint. I finally got the opportunity in Brussels, where I started 3 years ago. This explains, paired with the choice of not having a TV, my low productivity in knitting these last years.
See, once started, I can be quite talkative...
As it seems that everybody has already been tagged, I'll try to tag the french writing knitters bloggers. Here is the translation of the rules, a variation of the 7 random facts of the tagging that runs in the french blogs :
Les règles
And last but not least, one of my last knitting before the camera crash, a little hat in felted tweed I did not report, using one ball...
