I've been there...
And almost would have stayed thanks to

Amazing sceneries in Abel Tasman Park, a jewel to my eyes

in the Fox Glacier, down the East Coast on the South Island (view from a helicopter)
I was amazed by the geothermal activity

I loved the rich history

and food :-)

As it was already the autumn, there were but a few flowers, but I could see some Manuka flowers, which are used by the bees to produce a marvellous honey :

And of course I couldn't forget them :

Back from Aotearoa, the Land of the Long White Cloud, or, more commonly, New Zealand I had to land "spiritually", and this took as much time as I've been there. And now I long to go back. As soon as my situtation is more stable, I'll start planning. And if I do not find any stabilizer here (a job), I'll definitely go there, and do anything. I loved the land that much, yes.
Knittingwise, as the days/weeks/months before my trip there were really busy trying to gather enough money for the trip, to keep the schedule I had given myself at the painting atelier, and there was only very little room for knitting. So after the big knitting buzz of the xmas vacations, knitting had gotten quiet...nothing to report for the beginning of 2007.
On the top of it, my digital camera died, and until I can afford a new one, I can't take any pictures. My very good friend lent me her camera for the trip, so I could take back some digital memories of my trip, but I wouldn't have held on the camera longer, and returned it as soon as the pictures were uploaded...So for the moment, eventhough I have started to knit again, I can't show much.
As tomorrow we have a local monthly meeting, I'll ask the knitting budies to help me out, and take some pictures for me.
Coz I have some linen/cotton jumper on the needles that needs only one more sleeve, and I am good for the finishing. Yippee!

I'm sorry to hear about your camera - particularly since it means we must have missed some really terrific photos that you might have taken in the meantime - and your photos are always a visual treat. These are no exception. I have always wanted to go to NZ, and you've re-whetted my appetite to go! Thanks for sharing!
