I just recieved my membership card for the program *miles and more* from a flight company, and this is what came to my mind as i had to type the title for this entry. The main reason for this is that i have the impression to be knitting miles and miles of stockinette for the project I am now going to start the last piece.
Worse, i have to cencentrate, as i often do mistakes (when am i not doing any could be a problematic question to answer, it's true), by knitting the stitch below the one i am suppose to, creating an unesthetic hole as i do so. I've been ripping on this project, once again. But not that much, so i'm looking forward starting on knitting through the main piece number 2 of the cardi i've started during the summer. Optimistic as i am, i didn't have the idea that knitting the front of such a cardigan could be so long, and represent so many stitches, even though it is quite obvious from the picture.

Like, so.
I've been lucky because after knitting one front, the back, and the 2 sleeves, i had still a little bit of yarn. Not enough to knit the second front, but the lenghth of the yarn had been quite impressive. As i returned to Brussels I weighted this time on my little ikea balance which has a gram graduation, and saw that out of 100 grams, i still had 10. The first front weighting about 30 grams .
So last week-end when we were in Aachen with Sophie
and a non-knitting friend, my only purchase for myself was 50 grams of the precious yarn. I also got a bit more yarn, but not for me! Unemployment means diminished resources, and honestly, my stash can help me go through a lot of knitting. So i enjoyed this shop very much, i was glad to be with another knitter who was buying, and to push my non-knitting friend to come back to it (well i didn't push her that much, she was running into the walls of beautifully coloured wool anyway with huge eyes and *hungry fingers* - I guess that makes her an even better friend :-) ).
So now, off to some miles long stockinette :

Hello!
english again! oh my!
je t'enverrai sur le week-end. mais pour maintenant, generally we would use "make" where you are using "do"
as in "i often [make] mistakes (when am i not [making] any could...

Posted by: carolyn at September 15, 2006 03:25 PMYour English is fantastic- waaaaay better than my French! What part of Brittany do you live in? I am American, but I visit the Côtes-d'Armor area for a few weeks every summer. Only this past summer did I finally discover that there was a yarn store (besides Phildar) hidden away right near our house- woohoo!
